Serving Delaware, Greene, and parts of Ulster counties—all HRSA-designated rural and Health Professional Shortage Areas—MMH plays a vital role in providing healthcare to underserved communities in NY-19.

The investment would include fetal and maternal monitors, cardiac telemetry systems, portable electrocardiogram (ECG) machines, post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) multiparameter monitors, bedside ultrasound machines, and vital sign monitors—all fully compatible with the hospital’s electronic medical record (EMR) system. In a rural community, timely and effective care is especially critical.

The new facility would offer integrated primary care, women’s health, mental health, and in-house pharmacy services.

The proposed project would create a safer, more welcoming environment for residents, workers, and visitors by improving pedestrian access, enhancing connectivity, and supporting local businesses.

Request Explanation: This funding would be used to renovate a historic hotel into affordable rental units for people who work in and around the Catskills, including a food service for residents and tourists. The housing component would serve low- to moderate-income (LMI) households in an area with a 0% rental vacancy rate and 33% poverty rate. This project would also stimulate local economic development by bringing in new residents, generating foot traffic for small businesses, and establishing community services in an underserved area.

The proposed restoration project aims to revitalize this key public area while maintaining its historic integrity and enhancing its functionality for the community. The restoration would occur in several phases and include child-friendly infrastructure, pathways, seating areas, and landscaping designed to improve safety and accessibility.

It would also create specialized spaces for mentoring, academic support, recreation, arts, and programming for youth and adults with disabilities.

Request Explanation: This funding would be used to expand and renovate the Koffman Southern Tier Incubator to create a shared-use prototyping and manufacturing facility that meets a critical need among the region’s businesses and startups. Since opening in 2017, the Koffman Incubator has driven over $400 million in economic impact, supported more than 130 companies, and helped create over 650 full-time jobs.This project would address existing barriers to growth by offering centralized, cost-effective space that would allow startups to accelerate product development, attract investment, and create jobs—especially in key sectors like energy, biotech, and agriculture. This investment would help ensure that the Southern Tier continues to grow as a national hub for high-tech manufacturing and entrepreneurship.
